Job Summary
Plant is seeking a talented marketing content developer to drive sales through strategic content creation and deployment. From web copy, blog posts, and newsletters, to case studies, videos, and presentations, the Marketing Content Developer will be responsible for attracting and engaging new Plant customers through targeted written and visual communications. The position will be the second strategic hire for Plant’s marketing team, providing an exciting opportunity to help build a world-class marketing organization that leads the company’s expansion into new markets.

Core Responsibilities

  • Create an SEO strategy and an editorial calendar to support it. Closely follow all company operations to actively identify storytelling opportunities.

  • Devise, write, and publish SEO-focused website content, blog posts, and landing pages that drive lead generation.

  • Plan, write, configure, and deploy email marketing campaigns that assist lead conversion.

  • Lead the development of company sales and marketing materials (e.g., presentations, case studies, client guides), serving as project manager, lead author, and editor.

  • Manage and expand the company’s presence on social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube), drafting posts and supporting advertising efforts.

  • Support the creation of company videos (e.g., client testimonials, home and factory tours, installation events), helping with storyboarding, scripting, and basic editing of short-form clips.

  • Support go-to-market strategy for new product and service offerings, weighing in on product positioning and crafting impactful product descriptions.

  • Support PR initiatives by providing requested information and assets for company announcements and media features.

  • Serve as the company’s in-house editorial expert, providing writing, editing, and proofreading services for public-facing communications.

  • Source and manage freelancers as required.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in marketing content development

  • Expert knowledge of SEO best practices and demonstrated experience executing a successful SEO strategy

  • Expert writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to translate technical information into digestible content that is both clear and engaging for industry professionals and laypeople

  • Expert-level knowledge of email marketing platforms (e.g., Salesforce Marketing Cloud) and email marketing best practices; HTML experience not required, but a strong plus

  • Advanced knowledge of content management systems (e.g., Contentful)

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and Teams

  • Analytical reasoning skills and the ability to synthesize inputs from quantitative and qualitative sources (e.g., Google Analytics data and sales team insights) and apply them to guide content strategies and content development

  • A positive and outgoing personality with a knack for forming close working relationships with all functions of a diverse company

  • A genuine interest in sustainability, architecture, and construction

  • Excitement for working in a fast-paced startup environment that requires a high degree of self-motivation, self-reliance, and the ability to solve problems with creativity and enthusiasm
