RIALTO, California – March 16, 2023: Plant Prefab, the first Certified B Corporation™ building technology company dedicated to sustainable design, materials, and operations, today announced the appointment of Agustin Rayon as President and Chief Executive Officer. The experienced offsite construction executive will lead Plant Prefab’s growth in multi-unit housing production, expanding the company’s operations to support larger multifamily projects and single-family communities. Rayon joined Plant Prefab in 2022 as Chief Operating Officer.

"When we launched Plant Prefab in 2016, we believed we had a national opportunity to create a radically more efficient way to build high-quality, well-designed, sustainable housing," said Plant Prefab Founder Steve Glenn, who served as the company's Chief Executive Officer since 2016. "Today, we are preparing to open our third factory, our first automated facility, making Plant Prefab a leading housing manufacturer for developers and general contractors throughout the Western United States. We knew it was time for a new leader with the industry expertise, production experience, and greater vision required to scale the company, and I'm very pleased to say we have found that in Agustin Rayon.”

Rayon brings to Plant Prefab more than a decade of experience in offsite construction, including serving as Chief Operating Officer for Simple Homes, LLC and as Vice President, Engineering & Product Innovation at Prescient Co. Inc. He has led the design and commissioning of four housing manufacturing plants, implementing industry-leading quality assurance and operational excellence standards. Formally trained in mechatronics, robotics, and automation engineering, Rayon has also led research and development, product management, and process engineering, launching new product platforms with widespread industry adoption.

Since joining Plant Prefab in 2022, Rayon has overseen the company’s operations in Rialto, California and the commissioning of its new automated factory in Tejon Ranch, California, which is scheduled to begin production in just a few months. Capable of mass producing both panelized and modular building components, the 270,000-square-foot solar-powered facility will reduce waste and dramatically compress construction timelines and control costs for Plant Prefab customers.

“Plant Prefab has tech-enabled, industrialized processes that drastically improve the quality, efficiency, sustainability, and safety of housing production,” says Plant Prefab CEO Agustin Rayon. “I thank my predecessors Steve Glenn and Deep Bhattacharya for bringing me in, and for their many years of contributions building the company’s operational infrastructure and providing a roadmap for our next phase of high growth. I look forward to ramping up production at Tejon Ranch, further expanding our capabilities, and building strong relationships with partners who value innovation and the benefits of industrialized construction.”

Rayon began his duties as CEO on March 7, when Glenn transitioned to Executive Chairman. Glenn will remain with the company as Executive Chairman through April. He will continue to serve as a member of the board of directors.
